Indian Ringneck Parakeet
Psittacula krameri
Also known as the Rose-Ringed Parakeet, this bird is quite common in Australian aviaries and has been in the country for many years.
It is a bird that could easily colonise in our bush if let go and would create an environmental disaster should that happen as it is a very adaptable bird.
The West Australian authority C.A.L.M insist that the bird is kept in double door aviaries for safety and it is felt they are absolutely correct with their advice.
